Adults who do not already have an Austin Public Library Card can apply for an eCard to obtain access to the Austin Public Library's Digital Resources. eCards are free for Austin residents. Adults who live in Texas, but not within the city limits of Austin, can purchase an eCard for an annual fee of $22. The eCard will give you 24/7 access to the Digital Resources:
To request access to the Digital Resources, complete the eCard application and you will receive an email with instructions on how to upload a picture or scan of your valid photo ID and proof of your current residential address. After you upload your file(s), your application will be processed within 2-3 business days and, if approved, you will receive an email with details on how to access the Digital Resources.
Please note that an eCard cannot be used to check out or place holds on physical materials and are currently only available for adults 18 and older. Customers who already have a Limited Access Austin Public Library Card (through the TexShare Program) can also purchase an eCard for $22 annually.
